Chris Dowsett has spent more than 15 years with his hands in Sunshine Coast soil. Qualified landscape gardener. Certified horticulturist. Certified landscape designer. One of the few on the Coast holding all three.
The story
It started with one simple question
Ever walked through a garden and felt the love and attention that went into it? Chris asked that question for years while working other people’s gardens, and kept noticing the same thing: the industry was full of operators who could mow, and very short on people who could see.
See that the hedge was planted in the wrong soil. See that the north-facing bed was being watered like a shade garden. See that with a designer’s eye and a horticulturist’s knowledge, an ordinary backyard could become the best room of the house.
Loving Your Garden was built to be the answer: a small, deeply experienced team doing high end makeovers, soft landscaping and ongoing care for people who feel about their gardens the way we do. Heart led is not a slogan. It is the hiring policy, the plant list and the reason we still get Christmas cards from gardens we transformed years ago.

Soil, insects, birds, water and plants in conversation. We work with the system rather than against it, which is why our gardens get healthier every year instead of needing more rescuing.

We would rather do fewer gardens beautifully than many gardens adequately. Every property gets the time it deserves, and we never book a day we cannot honour properly.

Chris works alongside Alex, Brock and Victor: a curated crew, hand picked to complement every kind of work we do. All mature, experienced operators with ongoing in house horticulture training, each capable in their own right. Equal parts brains and brawn, all heart.
